'Miss Jimmie' Ruth White
Miss Jimmie

Last year's celebration was dedicated to the memory of 'Miss Jimmie' Ruth White, who died peacefully on
Saturday, June 23, 2012, surrounded by her family and close friends.  She faithfully served the community and Historic Downtown for many, many years.  But it is her contribution to Country Day on the Hill and the Old Settlers' Reunion that will be most remembered.

Mayor Rob Franke said
that "we count Miss Jimmie among the people that made Cedar Hill what it is today; she modeled our small town feel with a sense of caring and duty to give back.  Involvement and high standards were exemplified in her contributions to the community and she wrapped all these attributes up within her genuine love for people and the city.  We praise God for the life she gave to our city and are thankful to her family for allowing Miss Jimmie to give so much to Her Cedar Hill."
